Welcome
I am Lily (she/her), the therapist behind Lily Rosenberg Therapy. For the past 10 plus years, I have provided mental health support ("therapy" or "counselling") to countless individuals, couples, and families. While I’ve worked with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, I have observed that we often have some things in common:
Connection is key: We want to be loved and accepted, fully and unconditionally, by those who are most important to us.
We're all looking for some type of meaning or purpose: Whether that be in career, faith-based, or in our relationships, we are seeking connection to "something bigger."
Everyone is unique: Our past experiences, relationships, and environments shape who we are, our beliefs, and how we move through the world. Having our “worldview” be seen, heard and respected builds a sense of belonging, safety, empowerment, and community.
People are resilient: We hope to heal from pain, hurt, loss, and trauma, so we may continue to find meaning in our daily lives and relationships.
When someone is feeling “off” in one or more of the above areas, this can contribute to mental health difficulties. Click here for a list of issues I support clients with.
My Role
My role as a therapist is to talk with you, your partner(s), and your family, to help you make sense of what you are feeling and why, and how to make changes in order to have you functioning better (whatever that means to you) in your relationships, jobs, communities, and daily lives.
I do that through leading conversations that include lots of questions, great warmth and empathy, learning about you and "what's working," and supporting you with new strategies for what isn't. You will be heard and respected as we work together towards your counselling goals.
Approach
I work from an "eclectic" approach, meaning I draw from various therapy modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, Emotion Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Therapy.
Credentials
I have a Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Yeshiva University in New York City and am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
